Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar, the American and British sitarist. She's the smallest woman and also the first woman to be awarded an official British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is the Indian young sitar star. She is a student and daughter of the legendary Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her beginning of her career bouncing between London as well as New Delhi. At the age of 13, her first show in New Delhi took place. After that, she moved into Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha is still a young woman, nevertheless, she has an impressive career in music and performance. Her father has accompanied her on numerous occasions for several years. Her first solo album, Anourag, was released in 1998. The following year, she released the Grammy nominated album Live in Carnegie Hall. She has appeared at many major venues around the globe.
