Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn has been an actor for more than twenty years. Her most well-known role was in the role of Skyler on AMC's drama Breaking Bad. She won the Primetime Emmy Award to recognize Outstanding supporting Performance on a Drama Series for 2013 and 2014. Alongside her roles as Martha Bullock and Jean Ward She has also appeared on The Practice. Born in Sante Fe, New Mexico in the year 1968, Anna Gunn fell in love with the art of acting at the Preparatory School she attended before her family relocated to Ohio in the late 1970's. She went to Northwestern University to study theatre as well as the British American Drama Academy. Anna was employed as a theatre actor in the Chicago area for a few years prior to trying her hand at television as well as film roles. Anna's first big role was Arden, in Down the Shore. She played in 29 episodes. She continued to appear as guest stars on a few TV series and movies, including Seinfeld and NYPD Blue until the late 90's when she appeared in a regular role as Jean Ward in The Practice. Martha Bullock, a character which she played for two years in Deadwood's second season. Skyler was the character she played in Breaking Bad. Sully was one of her characters. Gunn has also appeared on stages in David Schwimmer's production Sex With Strangers. Gunn also appeared in the podcast audio drama of four episodes The Numbered Days series, which made available in 2022. The love story that exists between Walter White and his wife Skyler is often the backbone of the story of Breaking Bad with the strained connection between them and eventually its demise mirroring the same arc of Walter White's last years of his life.
